There Is No Peace
Jeremiah 8:11
They heal the brokenness of the daughter of My people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ but there is no peace.
Isaiah 59:8-11
They do not know the way of peace, and there is no justice in their tracks; they have made their paths crooked, whoever treads on them does not know peace. 9 Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us; we hope for light, but behold, darkness, for brightness, but we walk in gloom. 10 We grope along the wall like blind men, we grope like those who have no eyes; we stumble at midday as in the twilight, among those who are vigorous we are like dead men. 11 All of us growl like bears, and moan sadly like doves; we hope for justice, but there is none, for salvation, but it is far from us.
Contrary to popular hope these days, there will be no peace in the Middle East, nor in the rest of the world for that matter. I say that with great sadness, especially since President Trump is working so hard to bring it about with all the best intentions this world has to offer. But all the deal-making, shaking hands, and endless meetings with promises between leaders of nations will not produce anything but a superficial peace. That is to say, the results of these efforts are strictly temporary band aids…the treating of symptoms of a sickness that cannot be cured using the “medicine” of this age. Real, lasting peace will have to wait until the right foundation is laid by our Father’s faithful human and glorified son, Jesus of Nazareth.
Why? What does Jesus know that we don’t? What foundation will he lay? What tool will he use that our current leaders don’t? Answer…the intense desire to know and understand his (our) Father; resulting in an actual knowledge and understanding of Him, followed by a belief in, and admiration for, Him. That belief and admiration (worship) then results in the heart of a son who is being molded into the image of his Father. This is the way to individual and societal peace. This father/son mind and heart meld IS that new foundation. It’s called the New Covenant. But where you may ask, did Jesus get this information for which he longed and upon which he meditated constantly? He got it from the same place all leaders and people have access to if they want it…God’s inspired words in holy Scripture. It is there that He reveals Himself to anyone who wants to find Him. He reveals His character, values, and nature.
Unfortunately we have been deceived by that old serpent, the devil and Satan, to believe that access to information about right and wrong is all we need for peace. But this is a subtle lie. The apostle Paul made it clear in the book of Romans that knowledge about right and wrong, or any other kind of knowledge for that matter, is not of and by itself enough to ensure that the right will be followed and the wrong rejected. That’s because the knowledge itself, no matter what form it takes or where it comes from, is not the Source of truth and happiness. We must connect with the Source, and that’s our Creator/Father. We must pursue Him through His words…come to admire and love Him…and be changed into His image in order to have peace and any other thing that brings true, lasting, human flourishing. That’s how the Creator/Father designed us to operate and grow.
Again, the problem is that Satan has hidden this basic yet profound truth from us. And even when we attempt to connect with the Creator, this deceiver has other means to throw us off track. We are encouraged to worship false gods and believe in a false Jesus and false Gospel. The good news of human destiny in the coming Kingdom of God on earth, founded on the New Covenant system, is replaced by other gospels, another messiah, and another god (see 2 Corinthians 11). Therefore, religion, even what passes as Christianity, can’t help us. The Vatican and all her daughters worldwide are simply continuing to worship a god that does not exist in reality. As a prime example, most even worship Jesus as God and therefore are on the wrong path from the get-go. They can’t know God, Jesus, or the Gospel they both preached from ancient times. And as I said earlier, there can therefore be no real, lasting, peace.
Real change (and therefore peace) can only come when men and women (double for our leaders) desire to know and understand their God and Father, admire what they have come to know about Him, and are thereby transformed from within. Notice what God says:
Jeremiah 9:23-24
Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; 24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.
His miraculously begotten and faithful human Son concurs:
John 17:3
This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
One more thing; the Kingdom of God can never be thought to exist in this current age because men do not even know what the basis of it is, to say nothing about pursuing that basis. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life because his is the spirit of sonship, and being a son of God is more than just a name tag one wears for identification. It is a state of mind that believes in the Father and His words, and is thereby changed into His image from glory to glory. There isn’t a whole lot of believing going on in the world today.
Beware of a great deception regarding the Kingdom of God just around the corner. Get onboard with the true Good News about a coming Kingdom to rule over the nations on earth after Christ returns and he resurrects his faithful followers back to life, and not one minute before by anyone else!
